The needs of most unbanked and underserved customers for immediate cash from each paycheck spawned an industry of expensive check-cashing services. When these customers have their paychecks, Social Security payments, etc. deposited to Espree cards – treating them as payroll cards – they have immediate access to payday cash at far less cost. Should the cardholder require any portion of this direct deposit in cash form, all that’s required is visiting any ATM connected to the Cirrus® ATM network.
Espree accepts all forms of direct deposit, requiring only that the cardholder present the employer or paying entity with the card’s routing number and account number.
FirstView’s Espree card prepaid MasterCard broke new ground in the financial services industry. By marrying MasterCard acceptance with pre-paid debit cards, we were able to provide consumers who can’t obtain credit cards the convenience of credit card transactions everywhere MasterCard debit cards are accepted.
As our customer base grew, it matured into a number of distinct groups with individual needs. To better serve these groups, FirstView offers a family of Espree cards:
- Espree, just as it has existed for years; a popular solution for anyone who doesn’t qualify for a bank account or credit card. Espree is often loaded by payroll direct deposit.
- Espree Hispanico, with all the benefits of Espree, and with all Web and phone interfaces in Spanish.
- Espree Jr, enabling parents to give their children regulated spending balances, with direct reloads from checking accounts.
- Espree Affinity, which any group – church, charitable organization, non-profit association, etc. – can issue to its members, receiving back a portion of each transaction.
FirstView offers pre-printed checks to its customers which can be used at their discretion to make payments where checkwriting is more convenient. These checks are guaranteed to be paid to the merchant or recipient of the check.
Corporate customers can take advantage of the ability to pay bonuses or commissions to their employees or agents on the Espree stored value card. Rebates and other disbursements can be facilitated via this product as well.
