Joseph P. Meyer, Chairman
Mr. Meyer has more than 20 years of successful leadership and management experience in both large companies and start-up endeavors and successfully founded the first payroll debit card company in 1997. Mr. Meyer also founded another ACH payment processing company which processed over 1.5 million transactions per month and processed over $2.3 billion in 2006. He was the founder of Skylight, a successful debit card company, the former President of BellSouth Products, a $200 million subsidiary of BellSouth Telecommunications, and a Major in the US Army. Mr. Meyer has a BBA in Accounting from Iowa State University and served over 4 years in the active duty Army as an Armor Officer.
Cherie M. Fuzzell, President and CEO
Prior to joining FirstView, Ms. Fuzzell served for 6 1/2 years with NOVA Information Systems, Inc., most recently as Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel with global responsibility for the legal, human resources, facilities and training functions. After the sale of publicly-traded NOVA Corporation (NYSE:NIS) to USBancorp (NYSE:USB) in July 2001, Ms. Fuzzell also served as an Executive Vice President of U.S. Bank, reporting to the Vice Chairman presiding over all electronic transaction processing services.
Before joining NOVA, Ms. Fuzzell served for 4 years with Magellan Health Services, initially as Assistant General Counsel and later as Vice President, Mergers and Acquisitions. Prior to her employment with Magellan, Ms. Fuzzell was a Senior Associate with the international law firm Jones Day, with a practice focused on mergers & acquisitions. Ms. Fuzzell is a 1984 honors graduate of the University of Alabama (B.S. in Commerce and Business Administration, major in Accounting) and a 1987 graduate of the Vanderbilt University School of Law. While at Vanderbilt, she served as Associate Editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review. She is a member of the Bar Associations of the States of Texas, Ohio and Georgia and the Beta Gamma Sigma and Beta Alpha Psi Honor Societies.
Cherie is married with 5 children ranging in age from 15 to 22. She is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors and has attended, and served as a panelist for, the Directors’ College sponsored by the Terry College of Business of the University of Georgia. She is also a Member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Compensation Committee of Sonic Innovations, Inc. (NASDAQ:SNCI). Cherie has been profiled in the Fulton County Daily Report, Business to Business Magazine and Atlanta Woman Magazine.
John W. Fasano, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Fasano has over 15 years of experience in the electronic payments and financial services industries combined with over 20 years of accounting, finance and management experience. His financial expertise is in both the public and private markets, in accounting, financial management, financial reporting, as well as audit and compliance. Prior to joining FirstView, Mr. Fasano served for 13 years with NOVA Information Systems (Elavon) in a variety of senior finance roles. During his time at NOVA, John directed and managed all financial and accounting activities for Econex, a start-up, Internet-based transaction processing company. He was a key contributor in the development of the business plan and financial models to launch company and support investment and fund-raising efforts from Wall Street investment firms and financial institutions. During the merger of NOVA and US Bancorp in 2001, John’s role as Senior Vice President ensured delivery of financial acquisition model delivering integration cost savings of $21.0 million in 2002 and over $27.0 million in 2003. As a Divisional controller, John also led the integration of 15 business units located throughout the United States. John also developed and implemented all settlement process and procedures for NOVA. His experience also includes business and portfolio acquisitions. Mr. Fasano has a B.S. in Accounting from California Lutheran University and is a Certified Public Accountant with prior public accounting experience at Ernst & Young.
Erik J. Toivonen, Executive Vice President, Strategy and Architecture
Erik brings twenty-eight years of progressive leadership experience in all aspects of Information Technology in both large and medium-sized companies. He has extensive experience in high-volume, high-availability electronic transaction processing environments both domestically and internationally along with significant experience in strategy and business development and a thorough understanding of banking and payment systems.
Erik most recently served as Managing Director/CIO for Barclaycard US (Juniper Financial), the fastest growing card issuer in the marketplace. His prior experience includes CIO/Executive Vice President for NOVA Information Systems (transaction/payment processing subsidiary of US Bancorp), Sr. Vice President of Payment Systems for US Bancorp, and 13 years at Citibank in various leadership capacities within the European and North American Card Group.
Rob Fantaski, VP of Product Management
Mr. Fantaski directs all product development and management functions for FirstView, including major initiatives for Espree Card Services and FirstPoynt Payments. His background includes more than two decades as a senior IT consultant with experience in all phases of development life cycle in EDI and banking industries. Prior to FirstView, Mr. Fantaski was a senior sales engineer for American Express, focusing on electronic bill/invoice presentment and payment. He has also held significant roles in Specialty Home Enterprises, CitiBank, Global Payments, Federal Reserve Bank and Unisys. Mr. Fantaski received his BS in Computer Science from the University of South Alabama and his MBA from Mercer University.
Nancy Torres, Vice President of Operations
Nancy Torres brings two decades of operational experience to FirstView’s management team. She joined the Company in October 2008, after spending 3 years at The Home Depot with responsibility for international payables, debit balance recoveries, freight payables, and purchase journal balancing. Previously, Nancy spent 9 years at First Data Corporation as Director of Finance, responsible for contract administration, billing and collections. She also brings relevant banking experience from Wachovia Corporation in the areas of lockbox processing, float management and systems management. She has a BBA from Georgia Southern University and an MBA in Business Information Systems from Kennesaw State University.
Rakesh “Rocky” Gupta, Vice President, Information Technology
Mr. Gupta is responsible for all Systems & Technology initiatives at FirstView. He brings over 10 years of experience in the Payments Industry.
Prior to FirstView, Rocky oversaw technology, process, and resource infrastructures for Elavon (formerly NOVA Information Systems). As SVP Global Enterprise IT Management & Support, he managed release, configuration, change, and problem management in the US and Europe.
Additionally he managed the successful integration of multiple portfolio acquisitions in US and Europe and established a highly effective Global Service Desk for unified customer support on both continents. He led development and implementation of Global Systems Management Facility (SMF) that followed the industry leading ITIL methodology.
Rocky also led a systems automation project to create scalable, unified operations center for the US and Europe.
Rocky was formerly at Project Leader at Compass Management and Leasing, and received his BBA in Decision Science/Computer Science at Georgia State University.
W. Alexandra Blair, CA, Vice President, Finance/Controller
Alex is responsible for the finance & accounting functions at FirstView. She has more than 15 years of experience including 6 years of executive level experience, and a solid track record in building Corporate F&A functions, establishing financial processes and controls, business process improvement, software implementation, and cash management.
Prior to joining FirstView, Alex served as Vice President, Finance & Administration for iKobo, Inc., an on-line money transfer company. She has also held roles as Corporate Controller and several director-level positions with Randstad North America, a $1 billion staffing company. Alex was instrumental in the integration of an $800M acquisition and subsequent sale of several Randstad divisions and well as consolidation and conversion of all subsidiaries to one standard platform. Alex also has over 8 years of diverse experience with foreign companies.
She began her career as a public accountant with Deloitte & Touche and has 4 yrs "Big 4" experience. Alex has a Bachelor of Commerce from Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Canada. She holds a Canadian Chartered Accountant (CA) designation and US CPA designation.
Joseph Lacy, Vice President of Espree Marketing
With more than 15 years of strategic marketing experience, Joe Lacy oversees all aspects of FirstView’s direct marketing and advertising initiatives. Before joining FirstView in October 2008, Mr. Lacy helped develop and launch the online presence of several major worldwide brands, including headhunter.net – now careerbuilder.com – and Merial. Joe has an award winning background in graphic design and Web site development and has served as a consultant for companies of all sizes on how to successfully create and drive both traditional marketing initiatives and interactive marketing campaigns. His past clients include Interwoven, Jerzees, and Georgia Magazine. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from North Georgia College and State University in 1996.
Harry Palles, Vice President of eBilling Solutions
As a seasoned sales professional with over 20 years of sales, sales management, and channel sales experience, he has held positions in various large and small organizations including IBM Global Services, CIGNA, Unisys, Bank of America, Derivion, and most recently Harbor Payments, an American Express company. In his role at Harbor Payments, he managed the direct and channel sales of B2B and B2C eBilling solutions for the company and was responsible for driving a year-to-year sales increase of 700%. He was awarded the American Express Ambassador’s Award for exceptional performance earlier this year. Mr. Palles earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and a Master of Business Administration degree from Louisiana State University.
Stephen M. Wecksler, EVP Sales and Marketing
Steve joins the FirstView team with more than 10 years of experience in the financial services industry. He worked for six years at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in the Change Management Practice within the Financial Services Industry serving large regional and money center banks. He was first introduced to prepaid card products at MCI/Worldcom, where he worked for 5 years. During his tenure, Steve held various positions selling, supporting, and implementing nationwide retail prepaid long distance card programs among major grocery, drug, and convenience store retailers. Following MCI/WorldCom, Steve served for 3 and 1/2 years as VP Sales and Business Development at Directo, Inc., a privately held payroll paycard company in Atlanta. While at Directo, Steve gained extensive knowledge of PIN and signature-based payroll paycards, while establishing strategic alliances with national payroll companies (ie. CompuPay, PrimePay) and Regional Banks (ie. Synovus Financial Corporation, Colonial Bank, Old National Bank). Most recently, Steve led Business Development activities for the RBS WorldPay Prepaid and Loyalty Sales Team directly focused on the small business unit, bank alliances (Charter One and Citizens Bank), ISO's and Agent Banks.
Steve earned a B.A. degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI and an MBA from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL.
